Meet Recap

Good evening everyone,

WHEWWWW! That’s all I have to say about that match right off the bat. I wanted to start by thanking everyone for the support at the match. It was awesome to see everyone come out and support our first home dual meet. I know as a former wrestler what it means to step out in your home gym and see the people “in your corner” which includes in the stands. Big thank you!

I also wanted to thank the Dobry family in attendance, and all the extra work that went into the signs and cheers that pushed our wrestlers and made them realize who is behind them. The coaching staff, Coach Chris and Coach Corey, preparing each wrestler for battle and doing the extra things at practice that no one really sees first hand.

It was a very successful opening home match. Like I told the wrestlers earlier, two years ago when I came to Lackey, we wrestled Northern at home (always a very tough and top level team) and the score was 52-3. To see us wrestle our hearts out and close the gap, shows our progression as a program, and that is a direct result of you all. It didn’t end in our favor, but is a HUGE building block and stepping stone to the program we are developing towards. It was great to see the JC Brawlers, the future of the program, in attendance and looking up to the older wrestlers. They think the world of you all, and it was a very proud moment for us all.

We will continue to improve and progress and it is again showing that the hard work we are putting in everyday is leading us toward the success that is eminent for the Lackey Charger wrestling team. Let’s pick it back up and put in that work tomorrow! Have a great evening, and again, thank you!
