Boys Junior Varsity Soccer, Boys Varsity Soccer · BSOC Weekly Update 10/7

Hello all,

There have been a lot of changes to our schedule this week. Westlake had a technical issue with their field lights, which has altered our schedule for Tuesday. Our game against McDonough is back at McDonough but will now follow a field hockey game. We also have three games this week, so it will be important that we are well rested throughout the week.

Here is our schedule for this week:

Monday: 1:00-3:00 PM
Tuesday: GAME DAY @ WESTLAKE (Bus leaves at 2:30, Varsity plays at 4, JV 5:30)
Wednesday: GAME DAY @ McDONOUGH [HAWTHORNE DERBY] (Bus leaves at 4:00, JV starts at 5:30, Varsity 7:00)
Thursday: 2:30-4:30 PM
Friday: GAME DAY vs NORTH POINT (JV starts at 4:30, Varsity 6:00)

Uniforms – Because we have back to back away games, I can wash all uniforms on Wednesday during school. Boys should drop off their uniforms no later than 2nd Chance Breakfast so that they are cleaned and dried before we leave for McDonough.

Senior Night – Our Senior Night this year is October 22, against St. Charles. This year, all seniors will receive a gift from the Athletics Department. I am looking for someone to oversee our Senior Night. This includes organizing the epic senior night feast after the game. Please email me if you are interested.

Grades- Interims are released on Tuesday. Players need to share their grades with their coaches. Academic eligibility is crucial as we head into the back end of the season.

JV – Wilson Martinez-Lopez! The Freshmen player notched the game winner in overtime against St. Charles last Monday. Great job Wilson!

Varsity – Peter Stewart! The Senior defender is a quiet workhorse. This was clear in his play shutting down La Plata’s scoring opportunities in the second half. Keep it up Peter!

Honorary – Grady Klaas! The Sophomore player had a surprise surgery this week, which was successful. While he will not be able to play for a few weeks, Grady will be supporting his teammates on the sidelines. Get well soon Grady!
