When Jimari Jones interviewed to be the Head Football Coach in January, one of the ideas he emphasized was the importance of bringing back former players to speak to the current team. As he reached out to former players, he reiterated the importance of bringing in people who are as successful off the field as they were on it during their time as a Charger. Malcolm Willis, a 2009 graduate, is a prime example of how the game of football can lay the foundation for a qualitative existence later on in life. He was as well-rounded as they come during his time at Lackey as he was a standout in the classroom, the community, and on the field. It did not surprise anyone that he earned a scholarship to play football at Penn State where he was a star on the campus during his tenure. His impressive resume has landed him at the Dahlgren Naval Base where he works in cyber security. However, what is most important to him, are his two children and making sure he lives a life that they can be proud of. His powerful message resonated with the team and we look forward to having him visit with us again in the future.
