#NeverQuitPOTW for Week 3 is Darrian Carter! Darrian worked extra hard this week. The coaches noted that he was giving his best effort in drills and the scrimmages against the Girls JV and Boys Varsity team. Coach Head highlighted a goal that Darrian scored in practice as being quite exceptional. Great job and keep up the hard work!

Please buy a pair of white socks and blue socks from the team store. Or, if you can find that same model for cheaper, please do so ASAP. The boys will need to have these before the Patuxent game on September 10th. Here is the link:

Please continue to share our fundraising website. As of this email, we have raised $2500. Our goal is $3,000. We can reach this within the next 10 days. Parents, please share the link below on your social media and with your friends. Here is the website:

First impressions matter. Our team will dress for success on the first day of school and every day that we are playing away this season. This dress should include khakis or dress pants, a button-up dress shirt, and dress shoes. Neckties, cardigans, and sports coats are optional.

Starting the first day of school, all Varsity players will report to D5 at the end of the school day. This is Ms. Rizor’s room. They will need to check in with Ms. Rizor. Any boys who fail to do so are at risk to miss play time and possibilities entire games. Boys should bring and work on their homework, read a book, study for the NMSQT/SAT/ACT/ASVAB, research colleges or careers, break down game footage on HUDL, or review that day’s session notes. This is not a social hour or an opportunity to play video games. There is an expectation that Varsity athletes will maintain at least a 3.5 GPA this season. Utilize this time proficiently.

We are still working on details for this Thursday’s scrimmage; however, we need some volunteers. Here is what we need:
Ball Retrievers (4)
iPad Videographer (1)
Team Statistician (1)
If you are interested or know anyone who would be interested, please let me know.

We want to thank Coach Justin Lansley for what he has brought to our program over the last two years. He made our JV team very competitive during his tenure at the helm. We will miss him on the sidelines and in our practices, however, we want to wish him only the best in his future endeavors. Never quit inspiring others to work through adversity and be their best.
