Multiple Teams · Spring Sports Game/Match/Meet PROTOCOLS

Dear Spring Sports Parents/Guardians and Players,

We finalized the spring sports game schedule at the end of last week and I have attached it to this email.  I am sorry that it took so long but there were several schools that were struggling to field teams based on the number of athletes on each team and I wanted to send you the final draft as opposed to the number of revisions that we have been working through the last few weeks.  This schedule is also available and on our website, (Click on the tab “More”).

As you can see, we will have practices and games/matches during spring break The Head Coach of each team will talk to their players this week regarding the schedule next week.  As with anything else this year, we understand the need to be flexible with your family and your child.  If you have any issues as we navigate the schedule, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Head Coach of your individual sport or to me.  We are hopeful that you can make the best of this next week and be in attendance as much as possible but we understand you may have already made plans prior to knowing whether or not we would have a spring season.  When in doubt, just know that we are here to work with you!

I will be holding parent meetings this week after practice to review any questions/concerns you may have regarding the upcoming season.  I have attached a handout that covers Covid19 protocols for spectators, transportation, online ticketing, and seating.  In the event you are unable to attend, you can just reference this handout and reach out to me if you have any questions/concerns.  The parent meeting schedule is as follows:

Tuesday:  Softball & Boys Lacrosse (5:00 on the softball field); Tennis (5:30 on the tennis courts)

Thursday:  Girls Lacrosse (5:00 in the stadium bleachers); Track & Baseball (6:00 in the stadium bleachers)

Finally, if you are new to working with me, you will soon find out that I am very big into athletes supporting other athletes.  One of my goals last year was to try to establish camaraderie amongst all athletes.  I really believe this is a TRUE COMMUNITY SCHOOL and I try to emphasize that as much as possible.  As you can see, we will have many of our games/matches on the same day which I’m excited about.  The exception for that is Track which competes on a Tuesday.  While we usually only have one home meet, this year we have three (Tuesday April 13th, Tuesday April 27th, and Tuesday May 11th).

What does track have to do with you and your child if they aren’t on that team?  I am hoping each team will consider entering a RELAY TEAM FOR THEIR SPRECIFIC SPORT!  This wouldn’t be a big deal.  When we have a home meet, they would run in an event!  Since we have 3 home meets, it would give everyone who wants to a chance to have some fun!  Since Coach Jones and his track team practice until 6:00 every night, your child could walk over after their practice ends and get a little work in on the track!  Please understand this is not mandatory but is simply something to try to encourage so that the kids can have fun.

If you have any questions/concerns moving forward, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.  I know this is a challenging year but I can’t explain how excited I am to have a chance to work with you and your child this spring.

Stay Safe!

Coach Lush
